On or about May 6, 2011, the Supreme Court of Louisiana suspended Mr. Cardenas from the practice of law for one year with six months deferred subject to his successful completion of a two-period of probation  following his conviction for a misdemeanor count of domestic abuse battery (child endangerment) that occurred in 2006. In re: Leonard Cardenas III, No. 2011-B-0031, an Order of the Supreme Court of Louisiana, May 6, 2001.
